But despite being experts in their own professional arena, many lawyers commit some common mistakes on their business cards. This article discusses a few.
1. The type is kept too small

2. Fonts are tough to read

Some years back, there was a trend among professionals to put lots of space in between letters in each and every word. This, they thought, would help them gain a more sophisticated look. Thus they could just take a 5-letter word to make it as spacious as a 10- or 20-letter word. Hardly any thing is there that seems as fake or unprofessional as letters pulled apart for creating an intellectual effect. If you really are sophisticated, people will know it. And if not, they'll know that, as well.
5. Fonts create a misleading image
Fonts are not just another issue regarding personal preference. All the things in it (eg lines, curves or serifs) do create a look in particular. Be it formal / casual- this applies all the same. And same goes for fonts that are modern or traditional and elegant or wit. Lawyers at times choose fonts they feel good without discerning that this font hardly convey the impression or image they intend to communicate.
6. Using too much of foil

7. The key info is tough to find
When somebody looks at the card, s / he is actually expecting some piece of info. Oftentimes, it's a phone number or an e-mail address. This is because readers wish to contact the card owner. So make sure you've put the key info where prospects are likely to find it fast and with no trouble Otherwise, you might end up frustrating prospective clientele that you are so desperate to attract.
